The English Foxhound was bred to hunt foxes and smaller prey by scent to replace the bloodhound. It is thought that the Foxhound was bred from crossing the Greyhound, the Fox Terrier and the Bulldog. The English Foxhound is still used for the original job it was bred to do. This is a very active breed and shouldn't be kept by an inexperienced person.
