The German Shepherd Dog is an even tempered, vigilant, docile, and courageous companion. The German Shepherd is on of the most well known breeds famously used by Police, Military, search and rescue and as assistance dogs because of their high intelligence. Unfortunately more recently this lovely breed has had some health issues due to breeders breeding dogs with poor conformation. Originally the German Shepherd was bred as a herding and guarding dog but as time past it's job had to become more varied to fit into modern life.
